AGM 2024
This years AGM is on the 19-3-2024 - 8.00pm and will be held at the Conservative Club Spondon, all members welcome, and there will be food!!
River Match on the 24-9-23 Pegs 22, 23 and 24 available for pleasure anglers.
Tickets are now available for the 2023-2024 season and held at the previous price of £20.00.
We have had an incident on the 16-2-2023 where one of our members fishing on the Deeps, was verbally abused and had stones thrown at him by 2 youths on the opposite bank.
If anyone else experiences this kind of behaviour again please call me straight away, I have a number for The Earl of Harrington I can call and hopefully they can deal with it straight away. Alternatively I would report it to the Police, in the past I have had to speak to them about a few problems on the River and I found them extremely helpful.
For non emergency incidents call 101, for emergencies call 999.
When fishing on the River could members kindly check the platform thoroughly before using, It is the members responsibility to make sure it is safe to fish on.
They are checked each season but as they are occasionally submerged and subject to the elements, may deteriorate over time.
AGM 2023
This years AGM is on the 21-3-2023 - 8.00pm and will be held at the Conservative Club Spondon, all members welcome.
Gate to 94 Stretch
The lock and Chain to the stretch we call '94' (on the right side of the road), has been cut off 3 times in two weeks, so we have decided not to put another back on until the security situation on the old Celanese site which is currently being developed improves.
Update on the River 14-6-21
During the next few weeks, work will be taking place on the River to install a surface water run off Drain from new development, this will be around peg 16.
While this is taking place we will still have access to the lower stretch but you may have a short few minutes delay while the contractors are working, please be patient (fishermen have plenty of this I am told).
As previously mentioned these ongoing works have and will benefit us, with improvements to the fence and added security.
Any issues do not hesitate to call Steve Harrison 07857354622, have a great season!
25-4-21 There is a lot of work happening at the moment on the land at the back of our stretch of the River, a new fence has been erected to the left of our drive from the entrance gate and most of the way down.
This wooden fence is a temporary measure until a permanent metal fence is installed.
It has actually improved things from our perspective as a lot of the troublesome Brambles have been removed.
Although it may look at this stage that we have lost some of the parking when the permanent fence is fitted we will get those areas back plus a couple of additional pull ins.
If anyone has any concerns please let me know.
Some new pegs have been reclaimed towards the bottom of the stretch thanks to the hard work of mainly Rick Shore.

Fishing is allowed on the River during the current lockdown as long as current rules are adhered to, i.e. meet one other person and maintain the 2m distance rule, also the advice is still to limit your travel.
Could all members be vigilante as we have recently had the gate chain to the 94 section cut off and a person or persons built a make to shelter and been living there, please report this to me or another member of the Committee so appropriate action can be taken.
Just to reiterate one of the Club rules, their is strictly NO NIGHT FISHING on the River, Dusk till Dawn only. Anyone breaking this rule is risking not only their Membership but the Clubs continued access to the River.
Please be extra careful when fishing on the river please as the recent high winds have brought a few trees down, we are in the process of removing what we can.
Match fishing has now recommenced although some venues have a limited amount of pegs available, so make sure you book in with Steve Stone early.
We have started bank clearing on the River, ANYONE is welcome down there to help, the paths and driveways need raking of debris if you do decide to go down.
In line with Government recommendations and in the interest of every ones safety, the AGM is cancelled and will be arranged at a future date to be advised.
