With matches now throughout the year on a variety of waters you will also have access to half a mile of the prolific River Derwent.
Joining our club couldn't be easier, send a stamped addressed envelope to:-
Steve Harrison, 45 Sunningdale Avenue, Heanor, Derbyshire, DE75 7BS with a cheque made payable to Spondon Angling Club for £20.00, your address and a contact number. You will receive your ticket and details of how to access our stretch of water which is via a secured gate.
Steve Stone and myself normally have tickets with us on most matches so just ask!

Rod Licence Renewal
Remember you need a current rod licence to fish! The Environment Agency patrol many waters on a regular basis.
From the 1st April 2023 you will require a new Rod Licence, there are three ways to buy or renew your licence:

Match Rules
1. Fish matches to fishery rules.
2. Two Carp friendly nets must be used on Carp venues, one for Silvers and one for Carp.
3. Competitors must play and land their own fish and are allowed 15 minutes to land fish hooked after the end of match whistle.
4. All Sunday matches draw 8.45am. Fish 10.00am - 3.00pm. (discretional)
5. Guests allowed on matches if pegs are available, they can fish a maximum of 3 matches as a guest then they must join the club.
6. Disabled or ‘injured’ members may draw out of the 6 closest pegs but not the ‘end peg’.
7. Fish half way to the next peg if it is being fished, or if vacant, up to the peg but not past it. On a lake that is being fished both sides, cast half way only.
8. Steve Stone to designate which two pegs will weigh in, normally the two closest to the car park.
9. Crucian Carp are classed as Carp and not Silver fish in our matches.
10. Any decision made by committee members on a match day concerning any issue raised on that match will be binding.
11. Abusive language or behaviour will not be tolerated and dealt with accordingly by the Committee.
12.Official complaints by members must be put in writing or given verbally to a committee member within two weeks of the incident and will be dealt with at the next Committee meeting.
13. Pike will not be weighed on any matches.
14. No night fishing on the River.
15. If you book in on a match and do not give 24 hours cancellation notice you will need to pay the pegging fee for that venue.
16. On all matches a maximum of 60lb per net, if you go 1oz over you lose 10lb of the net weight, 70lb and over the net will be disqualified. NOTE, this rule changes depending on the fishery and then we abide by the fishery rule on the maximum weight per net.
